Sebacic acid has a wide range of applications. It is mainly used to produce esters of decanoic acid. These esters have extensive uses, such as decanoic acid di-butyl ester, decanoic acid di-octyl ester, and decanoic acid di-isooctyl ester
1. It is used as a raw material for sebacate plasticizer and nylon mold resin, and can also be used as a raw material for high temperature lubricating oil. Azelaic acid plasticizers are widely used in polyvinyl chloride, alkyd resins, polyester resins and polyamide molding resins, and are often used in some special-purpose resins due to their low toxicity and high temperature
resistance. Nylon molding resins produced with azelaic acid have high toughness and low moisture absorption, and can be processed into many special-purpose products.
2. Azelaic acid is also a raw material for rubber softeners, surfactants, coatings and perfumes.
